Our clients love OBA!

"Chris and Mandy are experts of online businesses and powerhouses of support, and they’re generous with their knowledge, resources, time, and energy. They showed me that the skills I learned in the practice room will help me with anything else I want to do or create.

Not only has Online Business Accelerator pushed me beyond my comfort zone to start my business, but it changed my mindset and outlook for my future!"

- Kat, Flutist, Yoga Instructor, Co-Founder of "The Total Shift Yoga and Sound Bath"

"When I started Chris’s OBA course, I only had a vague idea of the online business I wanted to create. I had very few technical skills and a lot of fear of technology. Within five months, I now have a viable business, a website, and a detailed plan of how to run my business and gain clients.

I have learned so much in this course and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to step into the online business space."

- Gloria, Cellist, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Founder of "Audition Confidential"

"It’s hard to fully to explain the impact of working with Chris on my life as a performer, an entrepreneur, and as a person.

Taking the "leap of faith” to have a coach and join OBA, especially during a time in my life when it didn’t really seem possible, was one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made.."

Katie, Flutist, Co-Founder of "The Band Director's Survival Guide"

read on.

Who's the boss of your career?

Does your artistic expression depend on circumstances beyond your control?

Does someone else call the shots about your career?

Is your personal life at the mercy of someone else's schedule?

Do you enjoy the company of the people you work with? The people you sit next to?

Do you have the freedom to take a day off? Can you take a vacation? Do you feel confident you will be able to retire?

You're the expert, but are you the one in control of your career?

Whether you’re an online business pro or you’re just starting out, the Online Business Accelerator helps you:

Choose how and from where you work

Work only with people who are a perfect fit for you

Reach your ideal audience, no matter where they live

Create a schedule that works for you and your family

Increase your income without having to increase the numbers of hours you work

Feel truly fulfilled in your work and art, knowing that you're working to your highest potential

You’re capable of more than just playing your instrument.

Remember that one thing that people always tell you you’re really good at (apart from playing)?

Maybe it’s audition coaching, teaching a specific method book, or showing high school students how to play string quartets.

Whatever it is, THAT special skill is your superpower.

When you figure out how to bring that skill online, you can find your perfect audience and help them in ways you never dreamed of.

It's not easy, but you are more than capable. And there's never been a better time to start than right now.

People who join the Online Business Accelerator will learn how.

Musicians don't understand their potential reach.

There are many ways to serve an audience and earn income.

You don't have to be limited by old business models.

“I enrolled in the Honesty Pill Online Business Accelerator just as Covid-19 shutdown began, and it was one of the best programs I’ve ever taken."

All of my concerts across the world were instantly cancelled, and I needed to come up with a plan of action for my future. OBA was the ideal thing for me––our supportive community met weekly in our group sessions, I had intensive one-on-one coaching, and it even helped me focus on areas that I never even imagined, covering every detail of creating my business.  I am so grateful to Chris and Amanda for this program, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!”

Anna Maria Mendieta, Solo Harpist and Principal Harpist with the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera

What do you actually "get" out of OBA?

We’ll have weekly deep dive meetings covering topics like:

  • Translating your superpowers into a profitable business—most musicians feel guilty about the need to earn a living wage. They often settle for business models that undervalue their expertise and time. I love helping my clients find ways they can better serve their audiences while making a real living.
  • Branding—everyone has a brand, whether they understand this or not. Your brand influences the emotional, unconscious decisions everyone makes about you. You need to understand how to make your branding work for you. If you don’t understand this, I can guarantee it’s working AGAINST you.
  • Mental blocks standing between you and launching your business—musicians always tell me they wouldn’t know how to start a business. But I can say with authority, musicians have exactly the right skillset to launch a business. If you think you can’t, you won’t. I’ll help you get out of your own way in time for launch.
  • Marketing—one of the benefits of being online is that your target market just increased by thousands and thousands of people! That said, they need to be able to find you, and different audiences require different marketing strategies. We’ll discuss how to “put out the bat signal” to attract the right clients. This includes social media (lots of discussion of social media!), copywriting support, landing pages, how to use email as a tool, and more.
  • Pricing—I don’t know many musicians who understand pricing strategy. There’s a science and an art to how to price your work, and it’s critical to get this right in order to attract your ideal client. We’ll help you get past your mental blocks to find the right pricing strategy for your business model.
  • The tools—by its nature, and online business involves technology. I’ve tried a lot of the tools out there, and I can help you find the most efficient, cost-effective, and powerful ones for your specific business.

What does the weekly schedule actually look like?

A typical week of the program includes a two-hour training call on Monday, a two-hour office hours session on Thursday or Friday, a video lesson or worksheet uploaded to the private Facebook community, in addition to a lot of discussion and questions posted in the group.

  • Weekly live trainings and QA sessions
  • Weekly, open agenda office hours
  • Six one-on-one coaching calls
  • Guest experts
  • My Online Business Launch guide, which shows you WHAT you need to do and WHEN you need to do it whenever you launch a new program
  • Lesson-related videos
  • Customizable checklists and worksheets
  • Access to a private Facebook group of people working towards the same goals
  • Accountability "pods"
  • Unlimited email support (response within 48 hours)

Need a website? Branded assets? OBA has you covered.

One of the main OBA 2.0 deliverables is a new website and logo. Customized websites usually cost between $3,000-15,000. Such websites are usually powerful but are often created on complicated platforms that are hard for non-experts to tweak.

Most of the musicians I know have websites that function solely as online business cards. They have an “about” page, a contact form, and maybe a performance calendar, but they don’t have a way to deliver any actual content or process payments.

I’m partnering with a wonderful web developer and branding expert for this project.

  • We will create your websites on Squarespace, a platform that is flexible but very easy for you to use and change.
  • In addition, we’ll work with you to determine the look and feel that works for your particular brand.
  • We’ll even create your new logo.
  • Clients are responsible for hosting and scheduling app fees, but Honesty Pill will take care of the branding and build!

Already have a website or logo you like? No problem. Participants who already have websites or logos will receive customized graphic design support. This may include social media "skins," email templates, or branded PDFs (e.g., lead magnets).

Participants will be responsible for submitting photos, bios, and other materials for inclusion in the website.

Still stressed out about tech, branding and websites? OBA has got your back!

Why are musicians ideal entrepreneurs?

  • You have the ability to focus and avoid distraction.
  • You have the discipline to see tasks through to the end.
  • Your creativity allows you to see opportunity and new paths.
  • You know how to set goals and get things done.
  • You have valuable skills that can improve others' lives.

I can show you how to turn your hard-earned talents into real, regular income – by growing an online business to bring you success and security in an unpredictable world.
