Super fun, especially in the group format, where we could practice working through ideas with each other in a community of amazing musicians and people.
A great reboot and structured approach with plenty of room for personal style—I’m already off and running with the new concepts!"

We'll guide you in choosing the stories and aspects of your life you should share. Spoiler alert–perfect, "airbrushed" storylines don't actually work. We'll explain why and show you how to build real trust with your audience.
Our ChunkBox™ tool manages your stories and sets a posting schedule like magic. You'll never be at a loss for what to post or write again! (Full disclosure–the ChunkBox™ is not actually magic. But it's probably a lot more efficient and effective than your current plan...if you even have a plan.)
With your brilliant storylines all ready to go, you'll learn how to customize them for the major platforms. Instagram vs. Facebook, email vs. blog–we'll show you what works best in each format.
"Loved this workshop so much!
I definitely have a bunch of NEW tools for social media and Honesty Pill presented everything in such an accessible way.
AND I don't feel so overwhelmed - their systems definitely make it easier and I'm excited to dive in executing!"
- Sarah (New York, NY)

No matter your level of technical expertise, you’ll get information that will help you navigate life online. In fact, "newbies" have an advantage when planning their stories, since they don't hold some of the common misconceptions about online life.
There are only two things you absolutely MUST have to get the benefit of these sessions:
The investment for participating in the Storyline System™ is $187.
Need even more personal support? We have time to work with a few participants for an additional hour (to be scheduled at our mutual convenience). For an additional $80, we'll work with you on whatever you feel you need.
Do you want a list of excellent hashtags? An audit of your Facebook posts? A tutorial on Instagram analytics? A how-to for creating high performing Pinterest pins? Or some advice on your emails or blogs?
We usually charge at least $200 for consultations like these, but we're making an exception to help a few people really get the most out of the system.
These days, there's no downside to being online. The benefits of being online are only going to increase from here on out. The sooner you start, the more time you have to learn and grow your knowledge.
If you want more control over your career, being online is a necessity. We hate seeing colleagues who feel lost or adrift. We want to do something to help. The sooner you master your online presence, the better off you'll be.
People who’ve been online for a while find this especially helpful. It’s a system for how to coordinate all of your hard work for greater impact. You wind up saving time, reaching more people, and accomplishing more in all of your platforms.
We've been there! We're sure some attendees will ask technical questions, but you're not expected to understand everything at once. A lot of the material is about your identity and what you want to share with the world. At its core, the Storyline System is simple and low-tech. If you want to dip your toes in the online waters, this is the low-stress, fun way to get started.
We get it. Nobody wants to be obnoxious. But if you're building a career, you need to say SOMETHING about your projects. We'll teach you how to bring it up and how to rotate your topics to keep your audience engaged. You can intersperse the business stuff with life stuff, keeping Great Aunt Edythe and your clients happy at the same time. You'll come across as you really are–multi-faceted, compelling, and interesting!
The Storyline System™ is NOT just for musicians. It's for ANYONE who needs a plan for what to create and post. Note that these sessions will focus on the needs of artists, creatives, entrepreneurs, activists, and small businesses–the people who benefit the most from creating a balanced, authentic online identity. If you want to stop stressing over how you represent yourself to the world, this is for YOU.
If someone else is doing any writing for you, you REALLY need the Storyline System™. Outside of hiring a mind reader, it's the simplest, most organized way to communicate how you want to see yourself represented to the world. If you're going to spend the money to have someone else create your content, you need to set them up for success with clear storylines.
Yes and no. You need to post consistently, but it doesn't have to be every day if you don't want to. The BIGGEST benefit of our system is that you can easily plan what you're going to say and where you're going to say it. Posting consistently becomes easy.
You don't have to be on every social media platform, but you should think a lot about where your audience "hangs out." We'll give some tips on how to "get along" in each one. If you really don't like a particular platform, we can help you identify some alternatives.
If someone had taught us the Storyline System™ when we started, we might have saved ourselves the thousands and thousands of dollars we spent on consultants, social media contractors, PR experts, photographers, and other experts over the years.
Each of those people taught us a lot, but there was one ingredient they just couldn't provide–an overarching philosophy of what we wanted to say, how we should say it, and when we should put it into the world.
…started Honesty Pill several years ago, long before the pandemic turned it into the best idea he ever had. He’s a trumpet player with the LA Phil and a serial implementer. He’s also a really nice, approachable guy who loves sharing his hard-earned lessons. He was doing okay with his online identity, but things started getting better the day his wife looked over his shoulder at his Instagram and said, “Why are you posting THAT?”
…is the abovementioned wife. And she’s the person writing this page.
I’m a clarinet player, writer, consultant, editor and beauty entrepreneur. A few years ago, I came up with an idea for a reusable replacement for face wipes and cotton balls. I then founded Take My Face Off and sold my “Mitty” product at Sephora, Neiman Marcus, Aerie, and QVC. It was much harder than I'm making it sound, but you don't have all day. After working with tons of social media consultants, PR experts, and website gurus, I’ve learned a lot! And much of what I learned can help you. I LOVE showing creatives and musicians that the online world is not stacked against them. Once you learn how to "show up," the online world is a wonderful place to share, grow, and flourish.
